CVR Global has bolstered its senior team to support its growing international offering.
Darren Reeds joins the firm as a Partner from Deloitte where he was Head of Financial Advisory Services for their insolvency and restructuring division in the British Virgin Islands.
Reeds has spent five-and-a-half years in the British Virgin Islands heading up the insolvency and restructuring divisions for two of the global Top 5 accountancy networks – this involved assisting stakeholders including; creditors, directors, shareholders and regulators in recovering funds and assets and managing cross-border litigation and enforcement procedures.
His most recent high profile engagement was in relation to an application by the BVI regulator, leading to his appointment in court, as the Liquidator of Mossack Fonseca in the BVI. Mossack Fonseca was widely publicised, following the Panama Papers articles.
Reeds will be based at CVR Global’s office on Furnival Street, London and is using his experience to support CVR Global’s existing international work in Gibraltar, Jersey and the British Virgin Islands, ranging across administrations, liquidations, receiverships and forensic investigations, and being part of the continuing growth of its overseas offices.
Reeds said: “CVR Global has ambitious plans to capitalise on the overseas demand that they’re seeing both from an insolvency and forensic investigation perspective, which I’m looking forward to playing a part in.
“My work has extended into different regions across the globe ranging from; BVI and other offshore jurisdictions, Russia, CIS, Eastern Europe, America and APAC including Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore. I’ll be looking to use both my experience and contacts to develop CVR Global’s presence in different jurisdictions.”
Reeds will be working alongside CVR Global Partner Adrian Hyde, as well as Adrian Rabet who heads up CVR Global’s new office in Jersey, to support the firm’s international practice and further strengthen the BVI offering. Reeds will continue to act as an appointment taker in the BVI along with existing resident director, Wesley Edwards.
Richard Toone, Managing Partner at CVR Global, added: “Darren has great industry pedigree having worked for three of the global Top 10 accountancy networks, and will play an influential role in expanding our overseas presence.
“With the recent new office in Jersey to add to our existing offices in Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands, as well as the appointments of Darren and Adrian Rabet, we are laying some strong foundations to be able to capitalise on worldwide work over the coming years.”
CVR Global was formed in 2015, and employs more than 90 staff.
